This blog is a way for me to share thoughts and ideas on my journey through teaching, particularly through the use of technology.
I am a teacher in my 8th year of teaching in Mildura, Australia. While I am primary school trained, over the years I’ve become more and more involved in the implementation and integration of digital technology into classrooms, supporting teaching and learning, with pedagogy at the forefront. My school has 1:1 iPads from Prep (5-year-olds) to Year 6 and 1:1 Chromebooks from Years 7-10. In addition to my teaching load (Year 7 Digital Technology, 1-6 French, 7-10 STEM, & part time Year 4 class), I meet with teachers regularly to encourage ways of using the iPads in a multitude of year levels and subject areas.
I enjoy using the iPads with my students but love to explore web 2.0 tools as well, to create a diverse technology culture. It’s an experience I love to share, as we are so privileged to live in a society with so much technology readily available! As my current school uses GSuite for Education, I integrated GSuite into as many elements of my teaching, professional learning and personal life. During 2017 I became a Google Certified Educator (Level 1&2) and recently became registered as a Google for Education Certified Trainer, allowing me to deliver training to those who would like it.
